The current Rogue is powered by a 170-hp 2.5-liter I-4 that delivers an acceptable, but not class-leading, 23 mpg city and 28 mpg highway. To bring its fuel economy up, the new Rogue may get a downsized engine. Overseas markets may reportedly get an engine as small as 1.2 liters, in the form of a supercharged I-3 or I-4. A plug-in hybrid variant is also being considered. For the U.S. market, the engine may shrink to 2.0 liters, or a few extra mpg could be unlocked through fine-tuning of the current 2.5-liter QR25DE and its CVT transmission, a combination that has enabled the Altima sedan to attain a class-leading non-hybrid highway rating of 38 mpg.

From the side point of view, there is tall beltline from the front into the rear. Meanwhile, the rear side is featured with trapezoidal taillights.

On the other side, the interior is larger and more stylish as well. The passengers will have roomier cabin while the cargo can accommodate much more belongings. The materials applied for the interior are chosen from high quality. The cabin has more refreshing look to make sure that five passengers inside this car will travel comfortably.

Based on these spy shots, the 2014 Rogue will get:

  • a sharper, more defined front-end treatment
  • a family resemblance to, ironically enough, the new new NV200 compact van.
  • more angular taillights
  • a more sharply defined overall style compared with the rounded, smooth lines of the current model
