2014 Ford Edge is another innovative model that Ford plans to conquer many markets. Crossover with plenty of space, with the latest equipment in the cabin, economical but durable engines and the famous ford quality assurance.
How much of the rest of the vehicle is truly all-new is unknown. If still riding on the same platform since the model’s introduction for the 2007 model year, this will represent the third restyle of the model, the second being in 2011, when it also received the optional 2.0-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder and a more powerful 3.7-liter V-6 for the Sport model.

Powertrain 2014 Ford Edge
2014 Edge will be built on the new platform, and in Europe will find versions with diesel engines. The Edge was refreshed in the 2011 model year, when it gained the grille and new interior. It also upped its base 3.5 liter V-6 by 20 horsepower to 285 hp, bettered its six speed automatic and its handling, and upgraded the Sport’s 3.7 liter to 305 hp. Last year, Ford dropped a new twist into the Edge, a 2.0 liter turbocharged four rated at 240 horsepower, good for decent acceleration and lineup leading highway gas mileage of 30 mpg.
2014 Ford Edge Exterior
While the leaked image left our Bradley-area Ford dealership squinting—it’s rather tiny and pixilated—but you can clearly see big changes will be in store. For one, it appears as if the Edge will be adopting a look similar to the Ford Taurus, particularly with its hexagonal front grille. The rear windshield also looks to be quite different with a kicked-up look. We also expect there to be more changes to the back, which is not clearly visible from the photo. It will definitely have a more athletic look, that’s for sure
