News on the next-generation 2015 Audi R8 has been spilling forth for a bit now, but a report in Autocar has begun to put them into a single package. We knew that next R8 wouldn’t offer a manual option, only a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission, and that the monocoque would be a lighter, aluminum and carbon affair. Audi has apparently pegged a target weight of under 1,500 kilograms (3,300 pounds), meaning it will shed more than 135 kg (305 lbs.) versus today’s 4.2-liter V8 manual.

2015 Audi R8 Release Date and Price
Base-model 2012 R8 prices range from roughly $114,000-$137,000 with V8 power and $149,000-$172,000 for V10 versions, excluding federal gas-guzzler tax. We’d guesstimate the 2015s will run some $2,000-$4,000 higher, model-for-model, mainly to cover the cost of the added fuel-saving tech and new part-carbon-fiber construction, though alterations in standard equipment and/or the dollar-to-euro exchange rate will factor in as well.
Meanwhile some rumors told that 2015 Audi R8 release date will be in late this year. There is no purpose why you should be eventually missed when it comes to the high-class and relaxation that comes with Audi vehicles. This car is made in a way that they will provide you even more than you predicted. What do you think of this 2015 Audi R8? Do you think you will be falling in love to this car? Or, you even think that you will have one? We promise that we will update soon after Audi announces 2015 Audi R8 price.
Powertrain 2015 Audi R8
As is typical for the R8, the new generation will be offered in both V8 and V10 versions, with both receiving increased power and improved fuel economy. Rumors say that the V8 version will deliver 450 HP, the V10 version will deliver up to 550 HP, and that the fuel economy will come in at 25.7 mpg. The GT version will also see an increase to 580 HP. It has also been rumored that the engine will be mated to a dual-clutch transmission.
2015 Audi R8 Interior and Exterior
The exterior design of the future generation R8 will be inspired by the E-Tron Concept, but the rest of the vehicle will carry almost identical features with an evolutionary styling theme and the absence of the current model’s sideblades and manual transmission. It will feature an aluminum structure, a long wheelbase, a roomy two-seat cabin, a mid-engined layout, and four-wheel drive. Despite these similarities, the next R8 will lose up to about 130 lbs from its total weight. This will be possible mainly because of the addition of some selected parts made of a new lightweight carbon-fiber and aluminum monocoque structure that is about 50 lbs lighter than the current one. Audi will also use plenty of carbon fiber elements for the transmission tunnel, floor, rear bulkhead, and B-pillars.
2015 Audi R8 Features and Safety
The evolution or disappearance of the sideblades on the “clean-sheet design” also wasn’t broached, but the trademark signifiers don’t appear in Autocar’s rendering. The report states that it will take cues from the R8 e-tron (pictured), but they see intakes at the door shut-line, which feature very MP4-12C-like dual strakes. It’s only a rendering, but if sideblades are what you’re after then the future doesn’t look bright. We’ll see the sibling Lamborghini Gallardo replacement next year, a year before the R8 is shown in 2014.
